Heinz August Manfred Sievert passed away at St. Joseph’s Home - Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 93 years. Manfred leaves to honour his memory: son, Peter; adopted children, Nick and Christina Davy and their children, Adam and Jordan as well as his four legged buddy, Marvin. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Hildegard and daughter, Gabriele. Manfred immigrated from Germany to Medicine Hat in 1955. He was one of the original members of the Medicine Hat Rock and Lapidary Club, lifetime member of the Coin and Stamp Club, German Canadian Harmony Club as well as the Medicine Hat Multicultural Folk Arts Council. Manfred also spent many years as the makeup artist for Medicine Hat Musical Theatre. A Celebration of Manfred’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

    I remember Manfred well from his years with musical theatre. My dad, Palmer Huckle, always spoke very highly of him! Condolences to the family.

    Manfred, you will be so missed by so many! You were the heart of the lapidary shop, teaching, Sharing your knowledge and skills and time to anyone that wanted to learn. I was one of the members who you shared so much with. Thank you, will never be forgotten!
