Carol Blanche Hainstock (nee McMillan) passed away gracefully at St. Joseph’s Home - Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday April 22, 2024, after an extended battle with cancer.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Larry; her parents, Emmett and Lucille McMillan; brothers-in-law, David Hainstock and Lyal O’Neill; sister-in-law, June Loehr and her in-laws, Irwin and Janet Hainstock.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Paul) Morrison and Collette (Lee) Gibson; son, Brad (Connie) Hainstock; grand-children, Taylor (Aaron) McWilliam, Evan Benedict, Braden Morrison, Courtnee (Lee) Gadoury, Kayla Benedict, Paige Morrison, Keira Gibson, Derek Gibson and great-grandson, Noah McWilliam. She also leaves behind her brothers, Brian (Fern) McMillan and Don (Wanda) McMillan; sister, Kathy (Dale) Brown sister-in-law, Margaret Hainstock and brother-in-law, Norm Loehr as well as all her uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who enjoyed special memories with Carol.
Carol was born in Coronach, Saskatchewan on July 21, 1942. She attended and graduated school in Coronach after which she started her banking career in Fife Lake. Carol and Larry were married in October of 1962. They resided in Coronach, Regina, Estevan, Gravelbourg and Calgary before retiring in Medicine Hat and Sundre. Carol spent most of her career with the TD Bank and enjoyed the many friendships developed there. Carol and Larry loved to spend time on the golf course and visiting with friends and neighbors.
Carol’s greatest love was her family and her closest friends. She developed a close relationship with all her children, grandkids and great-grandson, her siblings and their children, her uncles and aunts, cousins, friends and their families. Her devotion, passion and grace will be deeply missed by those whose lives Carol touched.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s who were so kind to Carol during her time there. Their support and kindness shown to Carol and her family was beyond expectations and so deeply appreciated. The family will have a celebration of Carol’s life in the future after details are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Home - Carmel Hospice, 156 - 3 Street NE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1.
