I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Sam. Sam lived across the street from my Mom for years. She had several health conditions. Sam always knew when she was hospitalized and always made the time to visit. He was a fantastic neighbour and a true gentleman. Kind, caring and compassionate. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Sam was my brother-in-law and over the 65 years that l knew him, he was as always so kind and happy. There were many good times over the years. Unfortunately in our older years and the distance that we lived apart our visits were few. Our last visit was 4 years ago but it was great to reminisce. He will be missed.

Very sad to hear the passing of Uncle Sam. I will always remember his smile and his jokes. When we were young he would always lose the card games so us kids could win.
Gone but not forgotten.

Sam was one of my many uncles on my Dad's side. He and my dad were 2 of 13 children. I saw alot of uncle Sam when I was young and even had a few sleep overs in the Burstall home where the family grew up. After his mother died, Sam lived alone in the house prior of moving to Medicine Hat. He was always great to me and ready for a game of any type and we played many together. My mom informed me years later that Uncle Sam would always let me win. Shows the type of guy he was. As I grew up and moved away to Ontario and started my own family we lost touch a bit with Uncle Sam although we spoke earlier this year when my dad (his brother) passed. Every year we did send Christmas Cards. We may not have spoke alot in our later years but he was in our minds and heart. Lots of good memories of Uncle Sam by a young boy from long ago. Rest in peace Uncle Sam.

I have very fond memories of Uncle Sam in both my childhood and adulthood. When we moved to Medicine Hat, we lived a couple of doors down from him. Our family was fortunate to have Uncle Sam attend our Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas Dinners for approximately 40 years, and I cherish those memories, especially when the dishes were cleared off the table and the Crokinole Board came out! He always had a smile on his face and I loved his contagious laugh. Always in our hearts…
