Obituary - Richard Urban

It is with sadness that family announce the passing of Richard Urban, beloved husband to the late Mrs. Martha P. Urban, which occurred at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, September 12, 2011, at the age of 79 years. Richard was born on July 19, 1932, a son to Reinhardt and Martha Urban. Richard emigrated from Germany to Canada with his young family in 1959. Richard owned and operated various businesses in both Redcliff and Medicine Hat. A devoted and loving husband and father, he worked hard throughout the years to ensure that his family were always taken care of. Richard will be forever missed by his children, Norbert (Ann) Urban, Nick (Sharon) Urban, Marilyn Matson (Donny Oss), Michael Boser, Debra (Shayne) Cockrill, Allan (Kathy) Boser and their families; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank Sander, Doreen Weinkauf, Rose Reineger and Jake Sander as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Richard was predeceased by his parents; sister-in-law, Clementine, and brothers-in-law, Pete, Tony and William. A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private Interment will take place at the Redcliff Cemetery at a later date.
