Mr. Harry William Watson of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mrs. Eleanor Watson, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the age of 82 years. Along with his loving wife Eleanor, Harry leaves to cherish his memory three children and their families: Sandra (Robert) Missler of Cranbrook - Angela (Brad) Erdely and their children Jenna and Maia; Andrea (Dale) Kocher and their daughter, Addyson; Robert (Deborah) Watson - Jillian Watson and Zachary Watson (Kassy) and their children, Brooklyn and Ryker; Tammy (Randall) Richard - Jessica Richard and Travis Richard. Harry is also survived by numerous other extended family. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Dolly and Sandy Watson. Harry served proudly in the Royal Canadian Navy before working for 35 years at Suffield, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed painting and puttering in his yard. One of his greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he was affectionately known as Grandpa Watson by many kids over the years. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W. on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Shane Andrus officiating. Interment will follow in the Field of Honour at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Harry's name may be made directly to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund c/o the Royal Canadian Legion, 702 - 2nd Street S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 0E1.
