It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dave Brier. "Jack the Bear" got on his Harley early this spring morning and rode away to a better place. Dave, Billie, Steve and Cam would like to thank all his friends for visiting him at the hospital over the past few months and sharing good memories. We also thank all the kindhearted staff that cared for Dave over the past months. Dave worked from a very young age driving truck for the Dederers and Lindens. He worked for the Medicine Hat News, Deluxe Central Taxi and the CPR, before working for Mae's Trucking, and finally BATUS. He is survived by his wife Billie; Son, Steve (Corinne and her children Keyana, Kamina and Kyden) and Grandson Cam; Joan (Hugh) Goldie, Lois (Norm) Black and their extended families; cousins, Lloyd and Wayne Shier, Edith Printz and families. He was predeceased by his mother and father Eva and Art Brier, Dorothy (mother-in-law); daughter Staci, Art Shier (uncle) and Cherry Shier (aunt). Besides his family, Dave's greatest loves were his cats, Harleys, classic cars and meeting with his friends (At Irvine on 2 wheels especially!). As per Dave's request, a private graveside service will be held. In honour of Dave, anyone wishing to join in a ride is welcome to gather at the Harley Davidson Shop on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 12:30 P.M. The ride will start at 1:00 P.M. and will end at the Elks Club on Riverside. Everyone is invited to join with the family for a time of fellowship at the Elks Club, 305 - 3 Street N.W. on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Medicine Hat Cancer Clinic, Medicine Hat Palliative Care Society, or to the SPCA.
