It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Casey Brian Reznechenko, who was born on August 1, 1967, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Raised on a ranch in the Maple Creek and Piapot area, Casey grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple, yet fulfilling life a small town offers.
For 30 years, Casey was a dedicated and loyal employee of Midwest Survey, where he proudly served as a Crew Chief. His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to his team were unmatched, making him a valued and respected member of the company.
Beyond his professional life, Casey’s greatest pride and joy came from being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always put his family first, cherishing every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was camping trips, sports games, or family vacations, Casey created countless memories that will be treasured forever. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Casey loved baseball, hockey, slow-pitch and golf and he found immense joy in watching his kids play sports. He especially loved following his daughter, Morgan, around Southern Saskatchewan, supporting her during her hockey days. He fondly remembered the hockey family and the many bus trips, a special chapter of life that he missed deeply after Morgan’s playing days were over.
Casey was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and proudly cheered on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. His enthusiasm for his teams matched his love for connecting with people. Casey had an incredibly personable nature and could always be found chatting with neighbors, friends, or even strangers he passed on the street, sharing stories and laughter.
In 2018, Casey and his family made beautiful memories during a Christmas vacation to Mexico and two special trips to Disneyland, experiences that brought his loved ones even closer together. He also loved spending time seasonal camping at Eagle Valley, where he and his family formed a tight-knit bond with their “camp family.”
Casey will be remembered for his big heart, his warm smile, and his love for family, friends, and life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Casey’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, Kim Reznechenko; son, Brandon (Gabbi) Reynolds who he accepted as his own at age 5 and daughter, Morgan (Bailey Chambers); 3 precious grandchildren, Henry (5), Isabelle (3) and George (4 months); a brother, Perry (Candace); sister-in-law, Michelle Reynolds, father-in-law, Ken (Dolores) Reynolds; nephews, Jarrod (Cassie), Logan, Connor and Tyler as well as numerous cousins and extended family. Gone before him were his parents, Reg and Violet Reznechenko and a nephew, Dolton Eiserman.
In Casey’s honour, a Celebration of his life will be held at the Maple Creek Armouries, 502 Marsh Street, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Joe Braniff officiating.
Memorial donations in Casey’s name may be made to the ALS Society https://als.ca/take-action/ways-to-give/ or to the Maple Creek Swimming Pool c/o the Town of Maple Creek, PO Box 428, Maple Creek, SK, S0N 1N0.

We are so sorry we can't be there. Casey was a big piece of our lives dating all the way back to when we landed in Maple Creek 20 years ago. He was our first crew chief; he was patient, kind and funny. He loved to laugh and we got to have lots of laughs over the years working with him, playing ball (Go Spuds!) with him and just hanging out, talking foolish. We worked with him for so many years and enjoyed his company always. Our sincere condolences to Kim, Brandon and Morgan. He will be missed.
