Marlene, Joni, Jim and Kathy; So very sorry to hear of your loss, Vern was a very special person. I first met him around 7 or 8 yrs old, and I always felt he had one of the sharpest senses-of-humor of anyone I've ever known. To this very day, I still use some friendly wise-cracks that I first heard from Vern.
Marlene, you and Vern always made your home feel so welcoming, thanks so much for that, you were an amazing team. My heartfelt condolences to all of you.

As a kid I lived my summers at the Hill pool. I first "met" Vern and Ray there. Vern and Ray were everything I ever hoped to be. I knew very little about them but I watched them. They were full of life and everything I hoped to be as a young adult.
As I got older I was also into cars in a big way. They were also into cars and speed parts. I bought some from them on Kingsway. They were my hero’s, but I was too shy to ever get to know them. Today, as a 71 year old; I look back and see just how much Vern and Ray influenced my life. Thank you guys! Vern will always be part of me, and I thank him for his gift. This man will always be “my hero”
