It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carmen Lee Eremenko announce her unexpected passing in Medicine Hat on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the age of 49 years. Carmen is survived by her husband of 27 years, Shane; daughters, Sandra and Rayla, and son, Brett. She is also survived by her parents, Ivan and June Schick; brother, Shawn Schick; sisters, Carrie-lynn Kraft and Christin Beck. Carmen was also survived by her in-laws, Raymond and Donna Eremenko as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Carmen worked many years at Servus Credit Union as a financial advisor before moving to TD Bank as an FA2 in training. She loved to help people and most would say she would light up a room with her personality and unforgettable laugh. Many will remember her as the Medicine Hat Stampede Princess in 1993, a title she carried with great honour. At the age of 48, Carmen became a grandmother to Saylem, Dominick, Elizabeth and Abigail Stuber, all of which she loved with all her heart, and there is another one on the way. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the celebration of Carmen’s life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Miller officiating. Private Interment will follow at the Redcliff Cemetery.

Ivan & June and families; our deepest sympathy in the loss of such a wonderful daughter. She was a great asset to Ryan’s school years in making him work hard to beat her in grades. In the middle of my 16th Summer, I reluctantly became the "new kid in town." Carmen was among the first to warmly welcome me. She invited me swimming and introduced me to EVERYONE there! A few weeks later, I remember feeling grateful not having to walk nervously to my first day of Grade 11 all alone. Sadly, Carmen and her family moved away the following year and, as life took us in different directions, we eventually lost touch... Although I can't pinpoint exactly when we last spoke, I can still clearly picture her exuberant smile and feel the warmth of her genuine, friendly and thoughtful nature. It's remarkable how such simple acts of kindness can significantly impact us -- I know there are many others who were also touched by Carmen's beautiful heart!
