It is with deep sadness and overwhelming grief that the family of Bonnie Marie Emerson (nee McKenzie) announce her passing in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the age of 50 years. Bonnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her two children: Thomas (Karmin) and their three children, Avery, Bailee and Carson; Danielle and her three children, Kiara, Khloe and Bennett; mother, Peggy; sisters, Laurie, Colleen, Kathleen, Patty, Elizabeth, Alicia and Kim; brother, Alan as well as many nieces, nephews and her Auntie. She was predeceased by her husband, Darren; nephew, Tyrell; father, Garth; a brother in infancy, Donald as well as many aunts and uncles. The Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Murray Jaster officiating. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Bonnie’s chapel celebration will be live streamed. Those who cannot attend but wish to experience the chapel service may visit this website and select the ‘View Broadcast’ button on the homepage at service time. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Bonnie may be made to APARC, 1002 South Railway Street S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 2W2 or to the Women’s Shelter Society, P.O. Box 2500, Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 8G8.

My thoughts and prayers to Bonnie's family. Bonnie was a cherished childhood friend. We found a closeness and comfort in each other through good times and bad times. Bonnie was loyal, had a big heart and loved deeply.

My heart is heavy hearing of the loss of Bonnie. She had a warm heart and was ready to jump in to help where and when needed. Even if she was sick herself and in pain. She helped many people and although they may not remember her name, they will remember her deeds. I am sorry she was called home at a young age, but I am sure she is at peace now and has been reunited with her beloved pets. Today she is an angel. Take peace in knowing she has no pain now. My condolences to all the family enjoy your memories of all the good times.

I was shocked to hear of Bonnie's passing. Although years have gone by with only a few interactions between us, we always seemed to pick up where we left off. Bon, may you rest in peace with your love Darren.

I knew Bonnie from elementary/high school. She was intelligent, creative and kind. I remember her bright smile and her amazing poetry. My condolences to Bonnie’s family and friends.
