‘Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free.’
Melvin Frederick ‘Rick’ Henderson gently slipped away on Monday, May 10, 2021, after a diagnosis of cancer only two weeks ago. Remembering his life is his partner, Glennis Theofan; his very loved children, Brandi Henderson, Mark (Vanessa) Henderson; cherished grandchildren, Nevaeh and Roczen; sister, Trudy (Roy) Leifso as well as his nephew, Curtis (Jen) Leifso. Rick was predeceased by his father, Clair Henderson and his mother, Olive Henderson.
“He was our go to guy...
he knew everything,
could do everything,
he was so talented and artistic.”
Rick’s true passion was being a goldsmith. He designed original pieces and took great pride in his work... creating something special brought him great joy. The family would also like to acknowledge the unwaivering support from the palliative and home care teams who guided them every step of the way. A special thank you to Dr. Foley, Dr. Tessier, Dr. Scholtz and Dr. Gebhardt for their help and guidance. In honouring Rick’s wishes, the family will be having a picnic at a later date to celebrate his life. Please think of one of our many local charities if you wish to make a donation in memory of Rick.

My most sincere condolences go out to Rick’s family. Although we hadn’t kept in regular touch over the years, we did exchange a few emails this past Christmas. Always one of my favorite cousins buddy. May you rest in eternal peace. You will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. He was such a nice man and so very artistic. He designed many jewelry items for us over the years and we always enjoyed meeting up with him on the street or at trade shows to see what his creative mind has come up with. Rest easy Rick, you've done well.
