1934 - 2017
Mrs. Evangeline “Vangie” Doreen Wise, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at the Bow Island Health Centre on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the age of 83 years. Left to cherish Vangie’s memory are her two sons, Allan (Raylene) Wise of Edmonton and Ron Wise of Calgary as well as three grandchildren, Casey, Charlotte and Alexander. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1995. Vangie was a long time member of both the Legion Auxiliary and Hospital Auxiliary, served on the library board and was a long time volunteer on the Medical Transportation Board for many years. She loved volunteering and was a strong supporter of the Bow Island community. A Celebration of Vangie’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vangie’s name may be made directly to the Pleasant View Lodge, P.O. Bag 6700, Bow Island, Alberta, T0K 0G0.

Dear Ron and Allan, Raylene and family, So sorry for your loss of your mom/grandma. Vangie was a very special lady and she will be missed by you, her family, as well as many friends. May you find some peace and comfort in all the memories of her that you have tucked away from over the years.

Our deepest sympathy in the passing of your mom. She was a dear friend to Harv's mom, Josie, and we always enjoyed visiting with her in the Manor. Her interest in the royal family was also shared by my mom, Yvonne, who so enjoyed sharing the magazines with her. I will miss her quirky sense of humour.
