It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ken Thompson, beloved husband of Wendy, announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Hospital on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the age of 63 years. Along with his loving wife, Wendy, Ken leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Ryan, Kristie (Joe) and Julie (Neil); sister, Diane (Ron) Evans; brother, David Thompson; sister-in-law, Lori Thompson; nephew, Chad Thompson; cousin, Brenda (Elliot) Wach as well as special friend, Don. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Brian as well as his pet dog, Boomer. Ken was very easy to talk to, and shared his great sense of humour with everyone he met. He enjoyed photography and took many beautiful pictures with his camera. He also enjoyed the relaxation that came with tending to his garden or just kicking back to some of his favorite tunes, old-time country &?Rock. Interment will take place in Morris, Manitoba at a later date. A come and go celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Kin Room at the Kinplex on the Stampede Grounds, 2055 - 21 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat. The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Foley, nurses and staff on Palliative Care for the exceptional care provided to Ken during his time there. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Medicine Hat &?District Health Foundation (Please specify for use in the Cancer Centre), 666 - 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta  T1A 4H6.
