John and I are sending our love and prayers to the whole family. Praying God will give you strength to face each day. Lean on him and on each other to get though this most difficult time. Clarence was such a special friend and I loved to make him laugh. My visits with both Clarence and Yvonnne are special memories I hold close in my heart. To see him smile with those kind, blue eyes made my heart smile. I loved his small "insults" when I asked too many questions about how he and Yvonne met. ??

To the Thurston Family,
It is with sadness that we have learned of Clarence's passing. I have many fond memories of working together with him during our days together at Alberta Wheat Pool. Your father was a very astute chairman at our annual meeting. He was a great supporter of Bow Island and the Bean Plant there. His family and farm meant a great deal to him. He was a mentor to many. I am sure that you have many great memories to sustain you at this time.
Sincerely , Ray and Jean

When I found out that Uncle Clarence passed earlier this week fond memories flooded back. As a youth I spent a few weeks on the farm in Bow Island and the best image of the man was how thoughtful and generous he was...especially with me...I knew nothing about farming, but with patience he taught me quickly on the farm life....With that I pass my thoughts and love to my Aunt Yvonne and all my cousins back in Alberta. Love Barry

May I offer my wishes to Yvonne and Family in the passing of a Dear Friend and plain nice guy. I always had the highest regard for Clarence and enjoyed my association with him when I was a PR out of Medicine Hat. He will be missed, but those fond memories will live on. Kindest regards. Jim Furnald

To the Family,
We remember with fondness and great respect our friendship with Clarence. He was a great supporter of the Hon. Harry Strom and the Social Credit Party. He always served with a smile and a willingness to do what was needed and what was right. He was a gentleman, a true Albertan. We are most thankful for his many contributions and the precious times we spent together with him. He left his community and Alberta a better place for your generation and the generations in the future. We all can be thankful for the life of Clarence Thurston. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dear Pat, Mrs. Thurston and all the family, I was so sad to hear about the death of your dad. Thinking of your family brought back many happy memories of coming for sleepovers at your house when we were young...in fact your home felt like a second home to me in so many ways. Your dad always seemed so serene and kind, and was such a great contributor to the community. I had great respect for him and all of you as a family. Sad that we are increasingly losing members of the generation that laid the foundations for all of us. Thinking of you at this sad time and sending love and hugs to everyone, Carole McCulloch (Lyon) and Randy McCulloch
