Duncan Wells
1949 - 2012
The family of Duncan Albert Wells, beloved husband of Carman “Bonny” Wells, announce his passing which occurred at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the age of 63 years. Along with Bonny, left to cherish Duncan’s memory is his mother, Marg Wells; five siblings and their families, Kim (Shannon), Dale (Darlene), Ken, Charlene (Ernie), Karen Wells (Casey); daughter, Erin Wells; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Bonnie Hann and their family; Florence Leonard and her family as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Elmer Wells and one nephew, Robbie Shewchuk. Duncan was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on August 5, 1949. He always loved the rigs, and worked a number of years as an Oilfield Consultant before his retirement. March 9, 1994, marked one of his most memorable occasions as this was the day that he married the love of his life, Bonny Leonard. Duncan was a loving husband, true gentleman and a joy to be around! His many friends will forever remember his great sense of humour. Duncan loved his cats as was evident by their names...?“Kelley Big-Man Wells” and “Stella Sidney Crosby Wells” In his younger years, he played football and enjoyed swimming. Later in life, he developed a love for growing his garden and riding his John Deere tractor. Duncan also enjoyed playing crib with his wife, but he could never win ‘cause she cheated! Reminiscing about his trip to Las Vegas to attend the NHL Awards Night and the trip to Pittsburgh to be there for the Penguins last game at Mellon Arena always put a huge smile on his face! A celebration of Duncan’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in memory of Duncan may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 124, 430 - 6 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2S8 or to the SPCA, 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8E8.
