I am sorry to hear of the passing of Susan. In the 80's and 90's I often had coffee or drinks with Susan. We had a common friend in Pam McCorkle and we often were together enjoying our company and photography. I liked Susan. She was a very friendly and compassionate person. Her love of life and the more simpler things (nature, animals) and her caring of other people was her strength. She was non-judgemental and made friends with anyone who wanted to spend time with her. Sometimes it was the homeless, poor or downtrodden. Her caring nature often gave them an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Her life was sometimes difficult, but I still like the person that Susan was. She will be missed and I will always remember our happy times together.

We were very sorry to hear of Sue's passing. We haven't seen her for a while, but she was always a pleasure to have as a customer and friend. She wasn't always feeling well, but she always came in with a smile and in good humor. Once again, we are sorry for your loss.

Please accept our sincere sympathies on your loss. Nadeen and Joyce from Next Step enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Susan over the past months. Nadeen is away on vacation, but has sent her condolences and this email that I wanted to share with you. Email from Nadeen ................ I really believe that Susan and I formed a bond even without words. I have to share a special time I had with Susan a couple of days before Christmas. I had been playing Christmas tapes for at least a month and singing along with the music. Every time she heard Ave Marie she got tears in her eyes. That last day she was awake and alert. I put on the Christmas CD and started to sing as I held her hand. Her eyes never left my face and she began to make sounds like she was singing along with me. In her mind I know she was singing every word. I told my family and friends that was my BEST Christmas present of 2011. Susan impacted my life too as that is how my mother would have been if she had survived the stroke that took her life!!I really do appreciate the chance to work with Susan.
