Mrs. Mildred Christina Heinz, beloved wife of the late Mr. Adam Heinz, passed away at the Riverview Care Centre while surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the age of 85 years.  Mildred was born in Wybank and raised in Fox Valley.  Together with her husband, Adam, they farmed there for a number of years.  After moving to Medicine Hat, Mildred started cooking in a number of restaurants for the next 20 - 25 years.  She was a great cook and will be fondly remembered by her customers for her awesome cream pies. Besides cooking, Mildred enjoyed singing, dancing, loved entertaining and especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.  Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her children, Beverley (Adam) Wist, Garry Heinz, Judy Heinz (Dennis Hartman), Mary Anne (Darin)?Janzen all of Medicine Hat, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,   sisters, Helen Leismeister, Ann (Andy)?Volk, Katherine (Clarence) Wendland, Frances (Eric) DeBoer, Irene?Hoffner;  brother, Valentine (Anne) Hoffner as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Adam Heinz.  Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 - 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Phi Nguyen Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Mildred’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, 401D - 3 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0G8.
