Obituary - Thomas Campbell

Thomas (Tommy) Stuart Campbell of Medicine Hat passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday November 17, 2011 at the age of 88 years.   Tommy will be greatly missed by his children and their families, son, Gordon (Susan) Campbell;  grandchildren, Sean (fiancé Erin), Ryan (Marisa);   daughter, Sheila (Byron) Haugan;  grandchildren, Colin, Courtney, Brodie;  son-in-law,  Alex Stosky; grandchildren Sheila (Kevin Lowrey), Sheryl (Mark) Powell, Laura, Leah;  three great-grandchildren, Ava, Ethan, and Max Powell;  brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Adele McDonald, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Tommy was preceded by his wife, Dorothy, daughter, Karen Stosky;  parents, Helen and Thomas Campbell;  and brothers, Neil and Alex Campbell.  Tommy was born on October 3, 1923 in Edmonton, Alberta where he was raised, married and had his family.  Tommy and family moved to Calgary in 1969. Tommy worked for the family business, Campbell’s Furniture, until the late 1970’s when he retired and spent many winters with Dorothy in Phoenix, AZ.   Tommy and Dorothy moved to Medicine Hat in 2006.  Tommy was a devoted husband to his wife of 62 years and a loving father, grandfather and cherished his time with family and friends.  A Celebration of Tommy’s life will take place at a later date in Edmonton, Alberta.
