Mr. David Hogg, beloved husband of Rosemarie Hogg, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Riverview Care Centre on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the age of 81 years. Along with Rosemarie, left to cherish David's memory are his four children and their families: son, Craig (Cathy) Hogg and their children Cody (Penny), TJ (Angela), Ginette (Adam) Kapeller; daughter, Jolene (Danny) Schneider and their children Coral (Mike) Moorhead and Kelsey (Chad) Bachmeier; daughter, Lorene (Scott) Anton and their children Mitchell and Calen; daughter, Theone (Don) MacLennan and their children Tessa and Kailey; great-grandchildren, Chance, Payton, Jake, Madison, Stavin, Kayte and Ashlyn; brother, Don (Donna) Hogg; sister-in-law, Helen Williamson as well two nieces, Julie Ross and Shelley Holyoak. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ethel Hogg as well as one brother, Ross Hogg. David was born the youngest son of William and Ethel Hogg in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on August 29, 1927. He was born in Shoal Lake and received his education in Strathclair. At the age of 20, he went to Flin Flon, Manitoba and worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting from 1949 to 1952. In 1953, he moved to work in Grand Prairie for a short time before moving to Medicine Hat in the fall of that same year. Shortly after his arrival, Dave started work with the CPR as a trainman. In 1955, he met Rosemarie and they were married on March 23, 1956. He later became a Conductor and held this position until his retirement in 1986, after 33 years of service. Dave was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge as well as the Shriners. He enjoyed curling, golfing, card games and dancing. Dave's easy going nature made him a real people person and family man. His generous, sincere nature will be forever remembered in the hearts of his family and many friends. A Celebration of David's life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dave's name may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, 833A Kingsway Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2X5.
