Mr. Ian McLeod of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mrs. Susan McLeod and father of Craig (Amanda) McLeod and their daughter Brianna, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the age of 56 years. He also leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Neil (June) McLeod and Alec (Diane) McLeod and their two sons, Scott and Mark, as well as an uncle, Tom Farquhar. Ian was a passionate man; especially when it came to flying a helicopter and riding a cutting horse. He was involved in the Canadian Cutting Horse Association and was a Past President of the Alberta Cutting Horse Association. Together with Les Little, Ian and Susan operated Rangeland Helicopters Inc. Through their partnership with the Southern Alberta Medic-Air Society, the company played an instrumental part in starting and maintaining HALO (the local Helicopter Air Rescue Program). Ian's memory will live on through family, friends and the many lives he touched. A time of celebration in memory of Ian will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at 1:00 P.M., with a time of fellowship to follow. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Southern Alberta Medic-Air Society, 666 - 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.
