Mrs. Jean C. Mills, 91, formerly of Medicine Hat and most recently of Victoria. B.C., passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. She was the widow of John Huey Mills. Born March 4, 1915, near Perth, Australia, she was a daughter of the late George and Janet (Mitchell) Henderson. She and her family immigrated to Canada in 1927 and settled in Brandon, Manitoba. In 1944, she moved to Medicine Hat with her husband and sons and was a resident of Medicine Hat for 39 years. She had resided in Victoria, B.C., for the past 22 years. She is survived by two sons, William G. Mills of Farmington, Connecticut and John H. Mills of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jennifer B. Mills, John H. Mills III, George B. Mills and Ramsey M. Mills; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret McCrae of Winnipeg; sister-in-law, Donna Henderson of Winnipeg as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katie Mills; three brothers, James Henderson, Archibald Henderson and George Henderson. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are invited to gather at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 9:50 A.M. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity or organization of one's choice.
