Mr. William "Bill" Larson of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mrs. Emma Larson, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Bill was born on August 25, 1920 in Medicine Hat, a son to Louis and Julia Larson. At a young age, following the passing of his father, he was handed the responsibility of maintaining the family ranch and looking after his younger siblings. Cattle was their way of life... and he knew it well. He and his brother Ed, won a distinguished award for the Alberta Aberdeen Angus Association Commercial Stockmen of the year for 1990. The family moved to Medicine Hat and a few years later, purchased feedlot at Irvine and a ranch near Walsh. Those were the best times of the Larson family's life. In the 1960's, he went on a Farm & Ranch World Tour. Destinations included Hong Kong, Japan, Fiji, Australia and Hawaii. Bill will be missed by his wife, Emma; his daughter, Fay (Paul) Matlock of Champion, Alberta; brothers, Fred (Alice) Larson and Ed Larson; sister-in-law, Esther Larson and her special friend Russell Baugh, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis, Julia (David Weiss); a son, Lorne William Larson; sisters, Vivian Larson and Viola (Bill) Brower and a brother, Jim Larson. The Funeral Service will be held at the First Assembly of God, 395 - 9th Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Hall officiating.
