Mr. Mike Lerner of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Frances C. McQuiggin, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005, at the age of 78 years. He leaves to cherish his memory Frances' six children: Joelane (Don) Wilson, Theresa (Pat) Meek, Charles (Brenda) McQuiggin, Virginia (Douglas) Doell, Brenda (Floyd) Edwards, Marcia (Colin) Morris. Mike is also survived by one sister, Adeline Miron as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Emilia and Walter Lerner; one sister, Helen Burgess, as well as three brothers, James, Lee and Herb Lerner. Mike was born at Prelate, Sask. the son of Emilia and Jerome Lerner. He was raised in Fox Valley, Sask., and worked in Warner, AB., McGrath, AB., and Medicine Hat for a combined thirty years in construction as a carpenter. He married Frances C. McQuiggin in March of 1968. Mike was a man of few words. He took much pride in his gardens, and his special tomatoes were coveted by all. Mike was also always up for a game of pool as was evident by all of his trophies. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, April 29, 2005, at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Loren Hosfield officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are invited to gather at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday at 2:20 P.M. for the procession to graveside.
