Obituary - Velma Prest

Mrs. Velma Maxine Prest passed away peacefully at the Bow Island Health Centre on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the age of 63 years. Velma was born on August 17, 1946 and was raised in Nova Scotia. Together with the father of her children, they had two sons, Christopher and Jeffery in Nova Scotia, later moved to Calgary where their daughter Jeannie was born, before moving to Port McNeill, B.C. where they raised their family. Everyone in the neighbourhood enjoyed “all” her baking. Velma loved country music and Elvis, she was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadians. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Velma is survived by her three children, Christopher, his children, Dylan, Jesse, Mathew; Jeffrey; daughter, Jeannie, and her children, Breena, Michael; her siblings, Irene, Ermnie, Darlene and Priscilla as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Clinton; sister, Sarah and brothers, Russell, Seymour and Joey. A celebration of Velma’s life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 1:00?P.M. at St. Andrews United Church, 139 - 2nd Avenue West, Bow Island, with Sheila McLeod officiating.
