Mrs. Dorothy “Dickie” Irene Stabler, beloved wife of Elmer Stabler of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully at the Riverview Care Centre on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the age of 71 years. A devoted wife, mother, grandma and great grandma, Dickie will be lovingly remembered by her family, husband, Elmer, whom she married on February 29, 1960 (Leap Year) in Great Falls, Montana; her children, Donna (Pat) Kunz, their children, Matthew, Scott; Sandra (Bob) Hamm; Susan (Murray) Wright, their children, Kristen (Braydon), Michael; Darren (Julia) Stabler, their children, Keilyn, Connor; Lori Stabler, her children, Nathan, Colton; two great grandchildren, Rowen, Dixon; as well as her six siblings, numerous nieces and nephews. Dickie was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Freda Schank. Mama ‘Dickie’ enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She found peace puttering around her flower beds and the quiet time knitting. One of Dickie’s most memorable occasion was the celebration of her 50th Wedding Anniversary with the love of her life Elmer, and her family and friends whom shared it with her. The family is forever grateful to the dedicated staff at Riverview Care Centre for the kindness and care given to Dickie over the past couple of years. A time of Remembrance honouring Dickie’s life will be Celebrated with Rev. Richard Worden officiating at the Creek Reception Centre, located next to Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:30?P.M. Everyone attending the service is asked to use the south patio entrance. Interment has already taken place. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dickie’s name may be made directly to
the Alzheimer Society, 401 D - 3rd Street S.E., Medicine Hat, AB. T1A 0G8.
