Obituary - Shirley Reimer

It is with sadness that the family of Shirley Anne Reimer announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the age of 62 years. Shirley was born in Souris, Manitoba on May 27, 1945 a daughter to Cornelius and Maria Reimer. She was raised and schooled in Plumas and later Arden, Man. On May 25, 1963, she married Barry Wareham in the United Church in Arden. Shirley resided in different communities including, Neepawa, Brandon and eventually made Medicine Hat her home. Throughout her lifetime she was employed as a steel worker, waitress and in janitorial services. Shirley will be remembered as a giving mother, grandmother and sister who was quite humorous and fun to be with. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, reading, the piano and accordion but had a special knack for knitting. Her greatest achievement was when her children were born and she will be dearly missed by them: Rodney (Annette) Wareham of Calgary, Geraldine Trekofski (Kerry Denis) of Calgary, Jacqueline (Romanoff) Martin of Dunmore and Jason (Starla) Wareham of Roleau, Sask,; her grandchildren, Garet, Ashley, Kim, Cassie, Jenny, David, Kelsie, Derec, Jasmin, Jodi, Bobby, Jurnee, Rodney, Mike, Courtney, Austin, Ember, Zander and Zane; great-grandchildren, Jayden, MaKenna and Tayler; brothers and sisters, Mary (Ken) Lippert, Ernie (Sharon) Reimer, Clarence (Sandy) Reimer, Bill (Kathy) Reimer, Jim (Char) Reimer, Harvey Reimer, Maggie (Pat) Laevens and Beverley (Rusty) Mingo; a special friend, Lyle Wardberg as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley was predeceased by her dad, Cornelius (1981), mom, Maria (1995), brothers, John (1986), Harry (1994); sisters, Violet (1985), Pauline (2004) and Phyllis (2006). Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Monday, October 1, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at The Bridge Church, 350 - 1 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with her brother, Pastor Bill Reimer and Pastor Ian Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
