Mrs. Dorothy Letitia Scott left us peacefully on the morning of Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald; sister, Mary Barrie; grandson, Mitchell Scott and her parents, Douglas and Mary Mitchell. She is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Valerie (David) Luyten; two sons, Donald (Verna) Scott and Douglas (Rita) Scott; seven grandchildren, Susanne (Daniel) Craven, Chris (Troy) Madson, Catherine Scott, Erin Luyten, Stuart Scott, Jennifer Luyten and Samantha Scott; four great-grandchildren, Amara and Chase Madson, Lachlan and Macaelan Craven as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born on October 21, 1921 in Medicine Hat where she attended and graduated from Alexandra High School. She began her career in the office of the Medicine Hat General Hospital where she worked until her marriage to Donald Scott in 1947. They continued to reside in Medicine Hat and worked together in the Family Business for many years. Dorothy was a Charter Member in the Medicine Hat Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Her life revolved around her family and she took great pride in all of their accomplishments especially looking forward to visits. Mum was a remarkable woman who showed incredible strength and courage during her illness and was an inspiration to us all. We will always love, respect and cherish our memories of our Mum, Nana and Great Nan. The Funeral Service will be held in the Wuerfel Auditorium of South Country Village, 1720 Bell Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Bob Findley and Reverend Joye Platford officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dorothy's name may be made directly to South Country Village, 1720 Bell Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 5G1.
