Mr. Helmut Treuer of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Mrs. Kathleen Treuer, passed away in Kazakhstan on Monday, January 6, 2004, at the age of 55 years. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Catherine Treuer and her daughter Jenessa of Medicine Hat; one son, Ian (Janet) Treuer of Edmonton; his parents, Josef and Maria Treuer as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Austria. He was predeceased by his grandparents. Helmut was born in Linz, Austria, on October 31, 1948. He was raised and received his education in Strathroy, Ontario. Helmut married Kathleen Benoit in London, Ontario on June 19, 1970. His work had him traveling all over the world, his last position as Service Supervisor with BJ Services in Kazakhstan. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17, the Moose Lodge, and a member of the St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Helmut was a culture hound, and enjoyed digital photography. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, and as a loving, caring, kind embracing and very thoughtful person. Funeral Services will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 635 - 4th Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Friday, January 16, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Gene Packwood officiating.
