It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Martha Philamena Urban, beloved wife to Richard Urban on October 11, 2008, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital at the age of 69 years. Martha was born on April 6, 1939 in Scott, SK., a daughter to Joseph and Bernadinia Sander. She married the love of her life, Richard 32 years ago, in 1976. Martha's devotion to her Roman Catholic faith and the Church, along with her feisty attitude is what gave her the strength to endure these past few months. She will miss the many guests she came to know as a chambermaid at the Travelodge, along with her many colleagues. Martha was an avid hockey fan and closely watched her Medicine Hat Tigers. If there wasn't a hockey game playing, you could find Martha at the Chocolate Shop, sitting and enjoying her favorite flapper pie. Those who knew her best could always hear her echoing voice, 'Yahoo Mountain Doo'. Martha will be forever missed by those who loved her most, especially her husband, Richard; and their children, Marilyn Matson (Donny Oss); Michael Boser, and Tim (Nichole), and their son Lucas; Debra (Shayne) Cockrill, Debra's son Troy, Shayne's children, Shayne Jr., Dianna & Danielle; Allan (Kathy) Boser; Norbert (Anne) Urban; Nick (Sharon) Urban and family; as well as her siblings, Frank Sander, Doreen Weinkauf, Rose Reineger, Jake Sander, including her best friends, Marion, Carol & Leona (son Chico), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Bernadinia, sister Clementine, brothers, Pete, Tony and William. Vigil Prayers will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. The Celebration of Martha's life will take place with a Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will take place at a later date in Saskatchewan. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Martha's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1Z8.
