Shirley Ann Cybertowicz of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully with her husband, Bruno at her side on the evening of Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the age of 61 years. Shirley Ann was born on August 30, 1944 in Medicine Hat, a daughter to John and Phyllis Zacher. She attended McCoy High School and then Garbutt Business College. She commenced employment with the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education in 1964 and completed 30+ years of her career at McCoy High School as school secretary to many principals. She married Bruno at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on July 24, 1965. Shirley Ann enjoyed cross stitching, watching sports, bowling, playing golf and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will remember her as being loyal, selfless, hardworking, reserved and most importantly, devoted to her family. Shirley Ann will be cherished in the hearts of her family: her husband, Bruno; daughters, Tina (Cory) Csikany and Tania (Augustine) Park; 3 grandchildren, Tristan Leigh Cybertowicz, Mackenzie Jade Park and Zachary Bronek Park; her parents, John and Phyllis Zacher; her sister, Linda Marie (Lyle) Williams; a sister-in-law, Marie Zacher as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley Ann was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Zacher. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Prayers at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street. S.W. on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 238 - 2nd Ave. N.E., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father John Maes celebrant. Private placement in the columbarium will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Shirley Ann's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1Z8 or to the Children's Wish Foundation, P.O. Box 1148, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 7H3.
