Obituary - Catherine-May Buchanan

Mrs. Catherine May Buchanan of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Terence Buchanan, passed away peacefully at the Valleyview on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the age of 82 years. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Dale (Lindsey) Buchanan and their children, Vanessa and Laura; one brother, Tom (Gladys) Wyatt and their three children, Bob Wyatt, Brian Wyatt and Sandy James. She was predeceased by her parents as well as one son, David. Catherine was born in Nestoe, Alberta on April 24, 1924. After joining the military, Catherine served the majority of her career in a training capacity near Wetaskiwin, Alberta. During her time there, she met Terence Buchanan and they were later married on September 2, 1944. Cathy was a member of the Ex-Service Women. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. David Carter officiating. Private Interment will follow in the Field Of Honour at Hillside Cemetery. In honour of their departed comrade, the Officers and Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Robertson Memorial Branch #17 will conduct a Poppy Service.
