Taken too soon, Cody Allan Rak passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the young age of 37 years. The light of his memory will continue to burn bright within the hearts of his family: father, Gerry Rak (Twila); mother, Marla (Rob) Theise; grandmother, Norma Brown; brothers, Brady and Ethin Rak as well as numerous other extended family. He was predeceased by his Grandpa Brown and his Grandpa and Grandma Rak as well as two cousins. Cody was born in Medicine Hat; raised and received his education in both Medicine Hat and Bow Island. After school, he worked for a number of years with Precision Drilling while taking on other jobs such as landscaping and snow removal. Cody was a hard worker, but he also enjoyed his down time, whether spending time with family and friends or the outdoors on a camping trip. A true “car guy”, Cody could often be found attending car shows in the city. His gentle soul will forever be missed by those whose lives he touched. A Come and Go Celebration of Cody’s life will be held at the Moose Lodge, 901 - 8 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 3, 2025, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Those wishing to remember Cody may do so through donations to the Root Cellar, 440 Maple Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0L3.

Marla, I am so sorry for your loss.
Our family remembers the “Code Man” from next door very fondly. He always made me smile every time I saw him, he brightened all of our days.

I'm so sorry to you Gerry and to the family. Ethan I send you a hug 🫂. I know all too well of the sadness that comes with these chapters as someone who has lost a child. I think it's different though. Mine was 2 months old and although death of a child at any age is hard, I think the longer you know and spend time with them, the harder it would be. Just know, I pray for comfort and strength to you all in this chapter of your lives. Stay strong for one another and know you are needed in one each other's lives. 💝

Can't deny how much it hurts to now have you so suddenly leave our lives so short on this journey. But you best believe some of the best memories I have growing up to the point I'm at today definitely had your presence etched into the story line. See you on the other side Crack 88 ;)

My beloved brother.
I am so saddened to have all the nostalgic memories of us growing up together resurface & then a length of time gone by where I hadn't seen him for about 5 yrs....to the very last ones when he had come to visit in the summer times of 2024 & 2025, said he missed his old friend.
Cody always made sure everything was all good. He never forgot about me. He visited my mom (Jamie) regularly in Bow Island & Medicine Hat over the years. Over 20 yrs of friendship & never a dull moment.
Since we were 13...
You & me till the sun sets & sun rises Cody. :( I miss you, your hugs & your sweet voice. I love you so much.
