Alzheimer’s Request

BY OWEN DARNELL

Do not ask me to remember,
don’t try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you’re with me,
kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I’m confused beyond your concept,
I’m sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you,
to be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me,
do not scold or curse or cry.
I can’t help the way I’m acting,
I can’t help it though I try.

Just remember that I need you,
that the best of me is gone.
Please don’t fail to stand beside me,
love me ’till my life is gone.

Oh Lynn, I am so sorry to read that Larry has passed away. We remember you both fondly from our little church of St Mary's in Redcliff. It was always so nice to bump into you both over the years, usually at the Coop, & catch up with you both. Most recently, it was just you & I catching up & hearing how Larry had declined. He is at peace now. God bless you both. Thinking of you with love.

Auntie Lynn, David, Sherry and family. We are so heartbroken to hear of the passing of Uncle Larry! He was such a gentle, kind, caring gentleman that will be truly missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. Thank you for letting me know. I have such fond memories of Larry and yourself. It is hard to believe that I met you both when I moved to Calgary back in the late 70's and that we remained in touch since then.

    Take care.

    Jim
