Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Pasiciel(2025)

December 1, 1929 ~ July 20, 2025

Walter Gustav Pasiciel, beloved husband of the late Cecilia Pasiciel, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 95 years.

Left to honour his memory are his four children, Rita Pasiciel and her daughters, Jennifer Pasiciel (Lark) and their daughter, Cecilia; Cielianna (Edward) Lopez and their daughter, Vanessa; Gordon (Denise) Pasiciel and their daughter, Tanya; Marvin Pasiciel; Harold (Sherry) Pasiciel and their children, Brian (Shawna) and their sons, Owen and Luke; Tyler (Jessica) and their sons, Weston, Houston and Walker, Ashley (Will) Wood and their sons, Miller and Turner as well as his brother, Ernest. Along with Cecilia, Walter was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Maria.

Walter had a deep and enduring love for the land. Farming wasn’t just a career—it was his passion and a way of life that stayed with him long after he retired. He cherished Sunday drives out to the farm, especially when they included a visit with his grandchildren or a good cup of coffee.

Some of Walter’s best memories were made outdoors—whether fishing with his grandsons, camping with lifelong friends, or enjoying the warm winters of Arizona during his many years as a snowbird. His quiet wisdom, gentle presence, and steady hand will be missed by all who knew him. Walter’s legacy lives on in the fields he once worked, the family he adored, and the stories shared around campfires and kitchen tables.

A private family service will be held to honour Walter’s life.

    To the Pasiciel Family,

On behalf of the Frieda Degen Family, I would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of your father, grandfather and great grandfather. Being neighbors for 65 plus years, I'm sure our parents could have only imagined that one day their grandchildren and perhaps great grandchildren would follow in their footsteps.

    Dear Rita & family,

When we opened our newspaper here in Medicine Hat we were surprised when we read your Dad's obituary to find you might be here too! Not sure you will remember us from Inuvik, NT. We knew you when you were working at the Rexall Drugstore. Gord and I are living here on 369-12th St. S.W. Medicine Hat AB T1A 4T8. We would love to get in touch with you at a later date. So very sorry for your loss and hope that good memories help you and your family as you pass through the grieving cycle in the next little while.
