Obituary - Ronald Michalezki

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Ronald Peter Michalezki announces his peaceful passing while surrounded by his family. Ron passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 75 years. Left to cherish Ron’s memory are his daughters, Rhonda (Gradon) Skjerven, Cinnamon (Joe) West and Nicole Goldade; brothers, Richard Michalezki and Lloyd (Sandy) Michalezki as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Paul Michalezki, Ken Michalezki and Stella Pollock. Much of Ron’s adult life was a true example of resilience and determination. While working in the Alberta oil patch in 1978 , he survived a catastrophic head injury from a car accident after which he returned to the oil patch despite losing partial vision and hearing. After retiring from the oil patch, he worked various jobs including meat cutter and casino dealer. He survived a second accident in 1998, and after a long recovery, lived independently until his passing; always finding new ways to care for himself and his home. Ron was generous, inventive, had a sharp wit and loved playing card games and backgammon; a joy he passed on to his three daughters. A private family time of remembrance will be held.
