It is with the heaviest of hearts the family of Reginald Michael Zachar, announce his peaceful passing while at the Medicine Hat Care Community on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 70 years. Left to remember Reg are his children, Michael, David and Mandy (Steffen); grandchildren, Kaylee and Caleb; sisters, Val (Dan), Chris (Terry) and Cynthia (Rob) as well as their families. He was predeceased by his father, Michael; mother, Mary and step-dad, David. Reg was born on August 7, 1954, in Peace River, Alberta. Reg had a long career as a welder and owned his own company, Magnum Welding. He had a lifelong love for his Harley, Chevy trucks and his prized β69 Camaro. Reg could often be found down at the track or riding down the road to Sturgis. He loved the roar of engines and the thrill of the ride on the open road. Reg enjoyed playing darts and having drinks with friends at the Doghouse where his laughter and competitive spirit will be missed. He had a special bond with his dog, Jax, who was always by his side and ready for a game of catch with his ball. But above all, Reg was a devoted family man. Papa could always be counted on when something needed to be built or fixed. He loved all the children in his life, and cherished every moment with them whether it was carving pumpkins at Halloween or building lego on Christmas Day. Reg will be forever missed by all. A Celebration of Regβs life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street SW, Medicine Hat on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating.
Reg's service will be live-streamed. Those wishing to experience the service virtually may do so by visiting www.cooksouthland.com and selecting the View Broadcast button on the homepage at service time.

Mike, sending you and your family condolences on the loss of your Dad. He clearly was an amazing man who loved to have fun and now is the time to enjoy those memories while you work through the grief of losing him. π

I'm heartbroken to just hear of Reg's passing. I met Reg when he started at Dynamic solutions. He became one of my favorite friends that worked there. I'll save some of the crazy stories I enjoyed with Reg, but one thing my wife and I can say, is he was a great guy who sadly went through some tough times. But he knew he was loved, and almost always was smiling. Last time I talked with Reg, was shortly after his stroke. I wished him a speedy recovery, and prayed for his healing. I'm so sorry for his family's loss, but know that Reg brought smiles to many faces, and he will always be remembered.
