The family of Patricia Gail McDowell, beloved wife of Dennis ‘Mick’ McDowell of Foremost, announces her passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 71 years. Patricia was born on September 13, 1952, in Wainwright, Alberta a daughter to proud parents, Mitchell and Dolly McCagherty. Pat was raised in Wainwright where she also received her schooling and met and married Dennis ‘Mick’ on December 20, 1969. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Pamela and Dean. Pat and Mick moved to Manyberries in 1996, where they formed a trucking company. Pat worked alongside Mick and looked after the administration side of the business. In 2006, they moved to Foremost and continued with the business until 2011. Those who knew Pat, knew she was a straight shooter and would tell it like it is and as such, she was well liked and well respected. Pat was a people person and really enjoyed to socialize whether it was with her lake friends or golfing buddies; who will miss her dearly. She knew her way around the kitchen and enjoyed to cook for all occasions... especially the holidays! Pat was a big presence and will be forever cherished in the hearts of her family including her husband, Dennis ‘Mick’; daughter, Pamela and her children, Carson and Sean; son, Dean and his children, Indica and Zane and one great-grandson, Jackson; a brother, Larry (Linda) McCagherty; very close friends, Alvin and Fay Sand as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Mitchell McCagherty, her mother, Dolly Leitheiser and step-father, Ray Leitheiser and a brother, Art McCagherty and his wife, Diane. Dignified cremation has taken place and a graveside celebration will be held in the coming months in Wainwright, Alberta. My Mother, My Friend
Mom, I wasn’t prepared for you to pass so soon.
There was so much more I had hoped we’d do.
I wanted to thank you for loving me again and again.
From the day I was born, I always knew you were my best friend.
No matter how many times I said, “You don’t know what it’s like.”
You knew what I needed to hear and would always be right.
Now you’re gone, I wish I had listened more and talked less.
LOL; LOTS OF LOVE…….
Until we meet again.
