She immigrated to Canada in 1958 with a toddler and infant in tow, to be with Dad who immigrated a few months before. Mom loved working in her garden and swimming at the Hill pool everyday during the summer. Mom and Dad lived in their house for 60+ years before moving to the Wellington. For the past 3 years, Mom has resided at AgeCare Valleyview. She always referred to herself as the “little English lady’” and will be remembered as such. “Death is just one step in your soul’s journey through the universe.” A private graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial donations in Pat’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

I have had the privilege of looking after Pat for 10 years off and on at both the Wellington and at aged care. She was such a sweet and caring and wonderful lady. My deepest sympathies to her family.

So sad to hear of Pat's death. It was nice that her love of swimming at the Hill Pool was mentioned as that is how I knew her: we swam together almost everyday for 25 years! One time the lifeguards said they were going to create an award for Pat and me as we were the most regular swimmers there. She was such a friendly and fun person; I enjoyed our post-swim chats in the shallow end. She was very proud of her family and even though I never met any of you, I knew your names and how much she loved you. I think of her every time I go swimming at Hill Pool and see the house right across the street - I imagine her watching for a safe time to cross the road to join us at the pool. With sympathy and good memories, Keith Walker

My deepest and most sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom…Pat was one of the A&W chefs when I worked there in the mid to late 60’s…she taught me how to flip a burger and bread chicken…she was fun to work with, I remember her fondly…best wishes to all…dbj, Orleans, Ontario
