On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, Jeanette Marguerite Heinz loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat at the age of 83 years. She leaves behind her daughter, Sharee Cann and her two sons, Mathew and Alexander and four great-grandchildren, Gemma, Emmett, Izabelle and Sebastian; and son, Darren (Danette) Heinz and their two children, Danielle (Stefan) and Darek as well as her brother, Lawrence (Phyllis) Pudwell. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband, Farrius in 2006 and her parents, Philip and Marguerite Pudwell.

Jeanette was born on the farm in Richmound, Saskatchewan and attended Etna School from grades 1-6. She then moved to Medicine Hat and attended Medicine Hat High School, graduating in 1958.

At the age of 16, Jeanette was offered a part-time job with Niblock & Company and after finishing grade 12, she was hired full time working there from 1958-1987.

Jeanette was an avid holiday seeker, travelling and cruising to places such as Russia, Turkey, Panama, Sydney, Singapore, Hawaii, Mexico and Alaska; and these are only a few of the many places she visited.

The Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 504 - 2nd Street SW, Medicine Hat on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Nancy Cocks officiating. I was saddened to learn of Jeanette's passing. She was my mentor at Sihvon Carter Fisher & Berger years ago. Jeanette was a great teacher, a brilliant legal assistant, and a patient and kind person. I learned so much from her and am grateful for having known her. I extend my sincere condolences to the Heinz family.
