Malcolm was my big brother and when I was a kid, he was my hero. When he would come home from the military, he would pick me up and make me touch the ceiling. Each Christmas, he would give me the one toy I really hoped for. He even gave me my first guitar. I wish I could play it like him!
My condolences to his friends and family.
    Rest in Peace Mac.

Myself and my grandchildren met Malcolm in Dec 2019 when we were delivering a Christmas blanket gift to a few people. We had an amazing visit with Malcolm, he talked hockey with my grandson Ryder, which they both enjoyed. Ryder saw a picture of a young hockey player and asked Malcolm if it was him. This pleased Malcolm and they became good friends, Ryder gave Malcolm a picture of himself in his hockey gear. Ryder continued to visit Malcolm until Covid made that impossible.
Before Christmas we checked to see if Ryder would be able to soon start to visit him again. He want to go right after school as Malcolm was right next door. We were so sad to hear that Malcolm was struggling, he has been in our thoughts and hearts. We hope to visit Malcolm during Remembrance Day each year to honour him. He was so very kind to Ryder and taught him to reach out to others.

You were a very special brother who taught me so much. Thanks to you I learned tons of card games and many an excellent come back phrase ! It was fun in our childhood. You managed to serve in the military as well as earn a Bachelor degree in Finance. Thanks for the fun times!

Malcolm was my much loved younger brother ❤. We spent many good times together and he was a special Uncle to our 3 children. His love of music, entertaining family and friends, enjoying a joke and laugh were just a few of his pleasures in life. I know he is having a good time in heaven with my beloved husband Bernie. Party on bro!

I just read this sad news on Paul Goyetche's newsletter. I haven't seen Malcolm since I was about 8 years old. We were next door neighbours for a short time on 7th avenue. I was friends with your sisters Brenda and Pauline and Malcolm and my brother Sean (John) were friends. Malcolm was always very sweet, polite and and kind as I remember him. I am sure he will be missed by many. Rest in Peace. Donna McCarthy

Hi all. Sad news this is. Malcolm and I chummed around all through high school and we shared a passion for guitar and sports, notably the 2MO soccer team (fast runner, winger), which of course Randy you'll remember well because you were a big part of that too, and hockey (Mac loved playing goalie). He definitely was the comeback king with a return quip for just about anything you could throw at him. If you got the upper hand once in a blue moon, he had a unique "a-w-w- c'mon" high-pitched whine he could throw at you with sad, blinking eyes thrown in for dramatic effect. We both joined the Forces about the same time, but it's a big organization so geography and life saw us drift apart. All the best to Randy, Pauline and Valerie and the rest of the family. Hope life is treating you well. Great memories of fun high-school years, in large part due to hangin' around with Mac. Regards, Gary Griffin (Nova Scotia).

I served in the forces in the 80's at CFB Trenton. Malcolm was a down to earth officer. I loved his wit and we exchanged sarcastic jabs at each other all in good fun. You won't be forgotten, RIP sir.
