In Loving Memory Of
Harvey ‘Jack’ Hatch
Harvey ‘Jack’ Hatch, born March 15, 1946, sadly passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Sunday, November 28, 2021, with his son, Patrick and daughter-in-law, Tamsin by his side.
Jack served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer from 1964 to 1993. It was apparent just how proud he was to have served his country by his story telling. Jack would share with anyone who would listen about his past experiences as a solider. With the sense of humour Jack possessed, and as anyone who knew him would know, he sure was creative when telling a story!
Passions in Jack's life included his furry family members, camping, socializing with family and friends, long walks, fishing and pretty much anything else that involved being in the great outdoors.
The kind, loving, generous soul of Jack Hatch leaves behind his only son, Patrick Hatch (Tamsin); brother, Douglas Hatch (Marlene); sister, Pearl Desjardins (Andy) and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with his wife, Sandra Hatch (nee Emms), family members that Jack has finally reunited with above and beyond include his father, Walter Hatch, mother, Kathleen Hatch (nee Favel) as well as two sisters, Margaret Belliveau and Alice McIntyre.
An Engineer's Prayer
Almighty God, we pray thee to bless the Canadian Military Engineers.
May our bridges always stand, and our charges never fail,
our members be ever loyal, and our officers worthy of their loyalty.
May we work diligently in all our purposes and be skilled in our trades;
steadfast for Queen and Country everywhere.
Amen.
Jack’s life will be honoured and his memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal service.

Our condolences from my family to Jack's family.
I served with Jack in 22 Field Squadron @ CFB Gagetown in the early 80's.
Jack will be missed by all Sappers that have ever had the pleasure to serve with him.
There was never a shortage of laughter when he was around.
He was always quick with a joke or story when morale would start to fall short & also a wealth of information when you needed it.
Jack will be sorely missed & always be there in our hearts & minds.
Rest easy Sapper. CHIMO!!!
