1947 - 2019
Dianna Malmgren ended her courageous battle with cancer on her own terms on Monday, April 1, 2019, at the age of 71 years. In her final moments, Dianna was surrounded by her partner, Roy Olsen; daughter, Dena Malmgren; son-in-law, Shane Hamann and grandchildren, Jayden Malmgren and Cameron Hamann. She was still smiling as they wished her farewell on her final adventure. Dianna’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the MAiD team (Medically Assisted in Dying) for their amazing service to our community, to Dianna and her family. Even though Dr. Anil Keshvara was only her doctor for a short time, he made a huge impact on her with his loving presence and medical expertise. The support and leadership he provides to families with this service is cherished. MAiD allowed for her to choose her own path.
As Dianna would say, “I did it my way”.
The celebration of Dianna’s life will be held in the banquet room at the Desert Blume Golf Course on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11:30 a.m.

I first got to know Dianna when I worked at Medicine Hat College over 15 years ago, and then would often see her at the Southridge YMCA working out and keeping fit!! Such a beautiful lady with one of the most radiant smiles I have ever seen. I will remember that smile always. Rest in peace you beautiful soul

To Dena & Family~
My heartfelt, genuine condolences to all of you after the loss of such an amazing woman with such true spirit. My best memories of Dianna were in the back row at noon hour workout classes at Heartbreaker where we joked about being the ‘older’ crowd in a room full of younger ladies - always giggling at our inabilities to coordinate ourselves to the beat of the class. Every time I saw her, she always had a (((BIG))) smile & a friendly visit would take place. I loved her energy, her spirit & I am so proud of her for exiting this world on her own terms. Forever respected. 🌟
