With heavy hearts the family of Linda Margôt Vaillancourt announces her passing while at the South Country Village on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the age of 61 years. Linda was born in Tisdale, SK., on May 23, 1953, to proud parents, Ed and Mary Schulz. She was raised and received her primary education in both Crooked River, SK., and Tisdale, SK. She attended the University of Regina, graduating as a Registered Lab Technician in 1973 and achieving the position of Hospital Lab Technician in 1978. Linda loved puns and was very quick witted. Her sharp mind relished in the challenge of solving puzzles and examining gadgets. Linda had numerous hobbies and interests, some of which included crocheting, liquid embroidery, photography, motorcycles, watching old scary movies or just sitting down with a good book. Linda was a great cook and was famous for the fudge that she enjoyed making for her family. She loved to travel, particularly to the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Linda was gifted at lifting the spirits of those around her. Some of her friends tell stories of Linda trying on silly hats to get a laugh from them while out shopping together! Linda loved cats, especially her beautiful friends, Sally, Grace and Sami. Her spirituality, strong faith, caring nature and commitment to her community led Linda to participate on numerous committees within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her mother, Mary Schulz of Tisdale, SK.; sisters, Marion Mayer of Melville, SK. and Lorelei Torpe of Wainwright, AB.; brother, Phil Schulz of Calgary, AB.; niece, Donna Evoy of Warman, SK. as well as numerous other cousins and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Ed Schulz. In honour of Linda’s life, a time of reflection and visitation was held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, Medicine Hat, AB., on Thursday, July 17, 2014, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Cremation followed with interment set to take place in Tisdale at a future date.
