Sincere sympathy to Edna, Andrew, Devon, Bruce and the rest of Brian's family and friends. Shocked and saddened to read of Brian's death at such a young age. Recalling many good times at the Coaldale Granite Club and Brian's love of curling. The last time I saw Brian he delivered my mail to me in Lethbridge! Imagine my surprise! Strangely, he'd been in my thoughts recently...............especially since I didn't know he was ill. Remember him as kind, gentle, easy going with a sense of humour, and accepting of others. Gone too soon, and will surely be missed.

To the Family of Brian MacDonald 2012-06-29
I’d like to offer condolences on behalf of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and myself on your loss. I first got to know and value Brian back in 2001 when we were organizing the CUS drivers here in Lethbridge. Brian stepped forward at some risk to himself and became the leader of the drivers in this campaign. He had a quiet strength and an authority which was immensely valuable during the trying times when we were organizing and, especially, when the employer walked away from the contract and we were scrambling to find work for the drivers who had lost their jobs as a result. Brian’s efforts with the Union made a huge difference in helping to ensure that all of the drivers, who wanted to, got jobs as unionized employees of Canada Post. Without his holding the guys together I don’t know if we could have done it. In the time after Brian got on as an employee of Canada Post and was serving as a Shop Steward, I learned to appreciate his quiet humour and his general good nature. I can honestly say that in the years I knew Brian, I never knew anyone who did not like him. He will be missed.
