Obituary - Irma Krug

Irma Krug

1923 - 2009

Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Krug(2009)

Mrs. Irmtraut (Irma) Krug, beloved wife of the late Mr. Josef Krug, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Irma was born September 2, 1923 in Germany. In 1953, Joe and Irma immigrated to Canada and made it their home. Together they operated the Crescent Motel and coffee shop. Later, they farmed just off the Holsom Road where Irma resided with her faithful dog, 'Lady' until the time of her passing. She worked at the Shell Restaurant and Elkwater Restaurant, serving up meals as a cook. Irma loved to garden, but most of all - she loved to dance. Irma is survived by a special friend, Albert Littke; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stefan and Christine Kruk; niece, Maria (Norman) Collard and their children, Brent Collard (Chazdynn and Triniti); Corinne (Sean) Coffey and their daughter, Jordan; nephew, Chris Kruk and his son, Jason (Barb) Kruk and their family Emily and Keidis. Irma loved to dance and we are sure that Irma's wish for everyone would be 'I Hope You Dance'. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson officiating. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Irma's name may be made directly to the charity of one's choice.
