Mrs. Dorothy Jean Lindsay of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Charles (Richard) Lindsay, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Hospital on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the age of 71 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families: Noreen (Art) Beyko of Winnipeg; Larry (Pam) Lindsay of Wellington, New Zealand; Laura (Clive) James of Gowerton, Wales, UK and their children Eric and Mark; Allyn (Duane) Ottenbreit of Medicine Hat and their children Jayson (Jennifer) and Kyle; Garth (Susan) Embree of Anaheim, California and their children Roly and Natalie; Dawn (Chris) Keim of Medicine Hat and their children Nathan, Sarah, Eric, Kyle and Taylor; Stuart (Leona) Lindsay of Medicine Hat and their children Tina and Toni. Dorothy is also survived by her brothers, Leonard Seames, Joe (Marg) Seames, Bruce Seames; two sisters, Jess (John) Allen, Irene (Ernie) Laney; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Cook, Lucille (Gordon) Kentish, Eleanor (Rex) Youngman; brother-in-law, Phillip (Heather) Lindsay as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Clare Seames; one brother, Donald; one sister, Georgina as well as her sister-in-law, Margaret (Barry) Bennett and brother-in-law, Bryan Cook. Dorothy was born in Belleville, Ontario on February 26, 1934. She moved to Medicine Hat around 1964 - 65. This is where she would meet and later marry Richard Lindsay on October 17, 1969. Dorothy worked at both the Betty Shop and Rabers as a seamstress. She then moved on to managing Caskie Furs and later worked at Irene Hill where she enjoyed working until her retirement. Dorothy had a love for many things including sewing, music, old movies and historically based novels of the old west. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and all of the family gatherings. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Gene Packwood officiating. Private Interment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Medicine Hat Cancer Clinic, 666 - 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6, or to the charity of one's choice.
