Mrs. Shirley Fargo formerly of Regina, beloved wife of Morris Fargo, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, August 14, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Shirley was born on April 26, 1932 in Kelvington, Saskatchewan, one of five children to proud parents, Emil and May Petersen. She later moved to Regina where in 1946, she met her future husband, Morris and were united in marriage on December 24, 1954. Their marriage was blessed with the births of their children, Robin, Christine and Morgan. Shirley was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family first. Christmas was her favorite time of year because she knew her family would all be together. Shirley's home was important to her and she looked after it well. Her green thumb was the envy of neighbors and friends as her garden flowers and yard were immaculate. She would often receive compliments from those simply walking past. She was inspired by astrology and the zodiac signs and was aligned with the stars. Shirley was a grand lady who will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Morris; children, Robin (Kathy) Fargo, Christine (Tom) Kelly and Morgan (Deanna) Fargo; grandchildren, Jacquie, Raelynn, Kimberly, Justin, Kiel, Whitney, Neil, April and Crystal; two great-grandchildren, Darrien "Bob" and Ava; three sisters, Elaine Nugent, Gail Fargo, Joan Boehmer; a brother, David (Edna) Petersen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Emil and May Petersen. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to the service.
