Mrs. Mary Katherine Dahlstrom of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Walton Dahlstrom, was set free to dwell in the house of the Lord on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at the age of 96 years. Mary was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on November 27, 1907, a daughter to Albert and Anna Marie Croll. She knew her way around the kitchen very well as she was an accomplished cook and pastry chef. Mary's family will remember her for the meals and baking she served and the secret ingredient she would always put in... "Love". Mary's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Marion McCabe; grandsons, David (Marianne) and Doug (Debbie), granddaughters, Penny (Lu), Kathy (Art) and Kim (Dave); 10 great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, Doug Wyatt; special nieces, Audry, Marianne and Darlene as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Walton in 1982; a daughter, Irene in 1988; a daughter, Gineva in infancy and a son-in-law, Joe McCabe. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish - Christ the King Church, 1101 Queen Street S.E. on Friday, November 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Very Reverend David Meadows celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Mary's name may be made directly to Holy Family Parish - Building Fund, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1B 4V3 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, # 124, 430 - 6th Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 2S8.
