Mr. Albert Derheim of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Dorothy Derheim, passed away at the Central Park Lodge on Monday, July 26, 2004 at the age of 93 years. Albert was born on January 8, 1911 in the Newburg district. He married Dorothy Vossler on October 23, 1932. They farmed in the Robinson area north of Elkwater before retiring to Medicine Hat in 1958. Albert was an avid sports fan... especially of the Medicine Hat Tigers since 1952. Over the past numerous years, he never missed any games until failing health dictated otherwise and it was then that he continued supporting his favorite by listening to the games on the radio. Albert also enjoyed going to baseball games and had a special place in his heart for the sports activities of Gary, Gerald, Darren and Todd. Albert will be remembered by his sister, Bertha Bischke of Lethbridge; a special nephew, Harvey (Martha) Derheim and their children, Gary, Gerald and families; special family friends, Audrey and Fred Ammann and their children, Darren, Todd and families as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his wife Dorothy, he was predeceased by a sister, Emma Vossler; six brothers, John, Carl, Ed, Robert, Emil and Ruben as well as his parents. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street, S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, July 30, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Clare Rattai officiating.
