Carol was born in Abbotsford, B.C. on May 22, 1949, and passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2004, the beloved wife of Frank Doerksen. Along with her family, she moved to Coaldale and then to Lethbridge. She attended high school in Rosthern Junior College at Rosthern, Saskatchewan, graduating in 1967. Following high school she furthered her education by obtaining a Beautician License and Journeyman Cooks License. Carol was baptized into the family of Christ at the Coaldale Mennonite Church on July 2, 1967. On April 4, 1975 she married Frank Doerksen. She attended Hillcrest Church which she enjoyed very much. Carol worked at Smitty's Restaurant for 23 years. Craig and Bonnie and all of her fellow co-workers became her second family for all those years. Her sense of humour carried her through the obstacles that life can present. Although she saw the humour in life she also spoke her mind. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and making fridge magnets for her friends and co-workers at Christmas time. Carol was also a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching hockey and the sports her daughters participated in. She was grateful to see her children grow and marry wonderful men and was especially fond of her precious granddaughter. Carol had a kind heart and a caring hand to give to others in need. This trait will not be forgotten by her family and friends! She will be sadly missed by her husband, Frank; daughters, Karla (Mark) Wilson of Calgary and Sara (Kit) Clark of Vulcan; precious granddaughter Josie Carol Ann Clark; her parents Ben and Doris Boehr; brothers, Eugene (Cheryl) Boehr, Lloyd Boehr, Lindsay (Carol) Boehr and their families. Carol is also survived by Janice Boehr; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave (Joyce) Derksen of Redcliff and their family. Carol is also survived by two dear friends, Dorothy (Ken) Holizki and Sarah Giesbrecht who was like a second mother to Carol. She was predeceased by a brother (sister-in-law) Douglas and Margaret Boehr. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 20, 2004, between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
